Using a green screen backdrop is ideal, but impractical for many, and a plain background of any colour works perfectly well so long as your clothing isn’t the same colour. We’ve experimented in virtual travel by placing ourselves on tropical beaches and at the Golden Gate Bridge. But sometimes, it’s nice to conceal the messy desk space with a fun and scenic background image. We have to admit that we’ve enjoyed getting a behind-the-scenes peek at our colleagues’ home office environments – especially all the dogs, cats, and infamous babies who know how to make a special appearance (and always during your most important meetings).

Now, thanks to a global pandemic, we find ourselves dialing into virtual meetings several times a day using this video conferencing platform. A few months ago, many business owners and marketing professionals had never heard of Zoom.
